Why you should Volunteer at Tall Tree Music Festival

I’ve had the sheer pleasure of working for Tall Tree Music Festival for the past two years and have truly felt supported in my role. I started off as the Harm Reduction Team Manager, then as a supervisor and now I’m doing my best to rock the Media Team. I want to take this time to let you know why Tall Tree Volunteers always come back, and encourage you to take part in one of Vancouver Island’s favourite Boutique Festivals.

So, why should you be a part of the team this year? Here is what some of the Hustlers had to say:

“Three reasons: the family, the good vibes, and the view. There’s no better feeling than being part of the Tall Tree Family! The support from the entire staff and volunteers is an easy constant reminder that we are all there to make this amazing festival happen. The good vibes radiating from the music and the smiles of everyone there makes you feel all warm inside, and DUH the view! What better way to meet new friends, embrace in a few hugs, and listen to some epic music than surrounded by mother nature herself!?” – Kaitlyn, Harm Reduction Team Manager

“Volunteering for the festival is an incredible opportunity to become a member of our inclusive and ever-growing community. It really is like a family, and the volunteers get a chance to take real satisfaction and pride in knowing that they are an integral part of the success of the festival. Volunteering with the Tall Tree Music Festival is a great way to meet a lot of people and make new friends, to see the inner workings of a truly unique West Coast festival, and to develop new strengths and leadership skills, and of course to experience music and vendors and culture, and have a ton of fun.” – Brittany, Volunteer Co-rdinator

It’s one of the best ways to get involved with the festival right off the bat, it gives you a chance to experience it from a different viewpoint, and it helps on the wallet as well! Not to mention knowing that you’re helping make the festival happen!” Jamie, Green Room and Artist Kitchen Volunteer

“Volunteering at Tall Tree is something I look forward to every year. It’s a way to connect with those around you. We make sure our friends are safe, ensure that crew are fed, get band-aids on scrapes, transport equipment. It’s a special feeling being a part of the Tall Tree family. Seeing everyone dancing in the sunshine covered in glitter, hugging their friends with the biggest smiles makes everything worth it! Big smile as I’m writing this!” Ariel, Harm Reduction

“Tall Tree is a place to explore your inner woodland creature. Rain or shine the animals come out to play. As a volunteer for the last two Tall Trees, I was able to contribute to a growing mountain culture; a west coast, grass roots festival. Good food, lots of smiles and plenty of great music. The volunteer community supports each other to be the best they can be, to create a safe, welcoming, clean, fantastic experience. Be honoured to be apart of the creative team that glues the festival together. Your animal spirit is waiting,” Makayla, Artist Relations

“People should volunteer at tall tree because it all couldn’t happen without volunteers. Every single person’s energy and hard work really makes this festival one of a kind,” Thalia, Artist Taxi Team Lead

“It’s an amazing experience to be a part of such a close family of volunteers. You feel like you belong there. Even thought you are working, you still get to interact with artists and other volunteers who have the same love for Tall Tree, music and food as you do. It is a small enough festival that you don’t feel lost and too far away from friends when you’re on shift which is always a good way to keep those good vibes going!” Whitney, Green Room

It’s not too late to sign up! Fill out the form and await your placement information. We are always looking for keen team members to be a part of what is sure to be the most fun you will have this Canada Day long weekend!
